Revelation

While doing my forecast last night I realized I had forgotten a basic law of dynamics that I probably learned on the 3rd day of class but for some reason was escaping me.  I got out my old notes, and after examining them realized 3 things:  I have no clue how I passed half my classes; meteorologists, for some reason, love breaking U.S. copyright laws; and I used to be able to get by on much less sleep.  Seriously, I remember being able to stay awake for like 52 straight hrs and be just fine.  Now if I only get 6 hrs of sleep I feel like I should stick both my arms out in front of me and moan "Brains, brains" over and over again.  But I digress. . .

Today's weather can be summed up in one word:  moist (which is also the dirtiest word in the English language and the reason I'm using it in today's dirty, dirty forecast)  A cold front stretching from Atlanta to Quebec is slowly making its way northeast.  That front, coupled with a strong southeast wind off the Atlantic, will team up for what proves to be a long day of steady rain.  And don't rule out the possibility of a random t-storm or downpour of felines and canines (figuratively, of course).  Temperatures in the mid 50s (56) with SE winds around 12 mph.

Tonight doesn't get any better as that front takes its sweet time crossing New England. Temperatures, at least, won't drop too much.  Evening temps around 51-52 dropping down to 48 by morning.  Unfortunately, the rain will probably continue on through most of the night.  Somebody's got a case of the Mondays.

Sam,
How about a forecast for the Duluth area for later this week? They're talking some nasty stuff Thursday through Saturday, but of course I won't believe it until I hear it from you. And don't let the fact that I carried you for nine months have any bearing on whether or not you take the time to do this forecast for me...

A forecast for my only mother? One measly prediction for the woman who raised me? Hmm...I'll have to think about it.
